Dear Allan,

In reference to the “science in your life” section, I would like to recommend “Your Inner Fish,” by Dr. Neil Shubin. This is a very well written book on early (375 million years old) fish fossils and their relevance to the evolution of life on our planet. On the topic of the “e word” please know that the term evolution is used in the Lucy exhibit, as well as on the museum’s website on Lucy. Perhaps the person you overheard was mistaken in his or her assumption.
