TGIF, it's not just bad television programing, its the motto of people world wide: Thank Goodness Its Friday!
The computer of a Japanese civil servant became infected with a Cyber STD. In response to that are for logging more than 780,000 hits on pornographic Web sites on his office computer over nine months, he was demoted. Thats right... not fired... just demoted!
Mugabe gets his runoff against opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai in Zimbabwe. The commission has given Mugabe a few more weeks with the statement, "No candidate has received a majority of votes counted. A second election will be held at a date to be announced." The opposition has accused longtime leader Mugabe of deliberately delaying the release of the results to buy time to intimidate voters. Well, looks like that worked!
Protests along the Olympic Torch Run against China have come to an end (at least for now) as the next three months of the journey will take place in Mainland China. Some Chinese, including the torchbearers, seemed to be relieved the flame was safely home, one said, "Foreigners don't understand China...They still think we're stuck in the past. They still think we're poor. This is our chance to show them the real China." Or at least show them what China is like with all protesters properly suppressed.
Oaxacan immigrants are getting off easy this Friday, and it would seem that they have for the last few years. The Indians from southern Mexico have no interest in staying in the United States, just coming over for the day to panhandle. At the end of a productive day, they wait for the Border Patrol to come pick them up and drive them back to the border. A Border Patrol spokesman said, "They do qualify for jail and prosecution... However, we've got to look at the humanitarian factor first if we are going to have to separate the family." So instead of any form of punishment, Border Patrol just gives them a free ride home to the border... why can't they at least pay for the trip? We won't even discuss the cost of the arrests to the taxpayer!
