Microsoft + Yahoo > Google?

So the big news in the tech world is all about Microsoft working to buy Yahoo. This way Microsoft and Google can later have their own Super Bowl of the Internet. I for one look forward to this since I only use Yahoo for my free personal e-mail and Microsoft for it's software.

Of course the one thing that I would really look forward to, you know better and simpler communication will not happen. "Analysts expect the combined companies to preserve many of their separate free services, like instant-messaging and e-mail programs."

Now maybe 2-5 years from now we can see some nice innovation... "Eventually, a teamed-up Yahoo and Microsoft might be able to rethink the PC desktop — where Windows still runs 90 percent of the world's PCs — so that Internet data such as stock prices, sports scores and weather are automatically baked in...we may not have a home page — it might just be the background of my desktop. There's no reason why Microsoft can't push this another level."

In the meantime, this will not effect most of us who do not own stock in one of these two giants, and really is not that newsworthy. Google isn't too happy about the deal, but again... I don't really care. I'm just upset with the idea that ISPs might start charging for the amount of bandwidth I use per month. Thankfully I don't have Time Warner.

As if Rupert Murdoch did not own enough media...

Yahoo Inc. is discussing a possible Internet partnership with media conglomerate News Corp.

As if anyone wants to to own part of the dying MySpace! HA!

Well, maybe this guy does?
