HD vs. Blue Ray - Game Over?

This war has been raging on for years now. No, not the Iraq war, but rather the HD versus Blue Ray battle over formatting. With porn going HD, I was sure we would see repeat of the VHS vs. Beta war of the 80s. But it would appear that due to the bootlegging of internet porn, the industry no longer has the stamina it once did. Thats right, Wal-Mart... king of retail cheap stuff... has decided on Blue Ray! "Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has decided to exclusively sell high-definition DVDs in the Blu-ray format, dealing what could be a crippling blow to the rival HD DVD technology backed by Toshiba Corp."

Meanwhile, in a similar but completely different war... the PlayStation 3 seems much cooler to me than the X-Box. Despite record breaking sales for Halo 3, how will the X-Box compete when the PS3 has built in Blue Ray?

In other news, Greenspan says the American economy is going to hell...

Microsoft said today that "We do not believe the recent reports about HD DVD will have any material impact on the Xbox 360 platform or our position in the marketplace."

Well of course .... who actually paid the $150-200 extra so their 360 can play HD DVDs?

Well, now Amazon is offering it for $120 with six free movies!
