It would appear that people are not happy with the whole Kosovo independence thing and they are taking it out on the United States embassy. In fact, "a charred body was found inside the U.S. Embassy Thursday after Serb rioters protesting Kosovo's declaration of independence set fire to offices there." The U.S. embassy had been closed in anticipation of the demonstration, and officials are not sure who's remains were discovered as all the Embassy staff have been accounted for. Hmmm... I smell a cover-up!
On a similar but totally different ethnic note, "Monopoly, the iconic game of capitalism, has been drawn into the dispute over Jerusalem." The new "Here and Now" world edition allows monopoly enthusiasts to log into the Hasbro Website and vote for which cities they would like to see on the game board. Since country names will not even appear on the board, the entire argument was just a waste... much like the time spent playing Monopoly. And to think,
how often does a rich man smoking a cigar cause strive in the world?
On the Forgotten Continent... aka... Africa...
Liberia, "Land of the Free," the country in West Africa colonized by freed slaves in 1822 and founded in 1847 and since then the scene of constant civil war, has once again be blessed with American intervention. "President Bush said Thursday that the United States is committed to helping restore lives of "hope and peace" to Liberia, a poor African nation that ties its founding and its renewed freedom to America." That sounds great... but how about we solve the problems here in United States first? The U.S. has provided $750 Million in aid since 2003.... which is close to the amount of money that was spent between individuals trying to buy to U.S. presidency back in 2004. Coincidence? ... Probably so.
Also coming out of Africa... Scientists have recently completed studies that confirm the theory that modern man evolved in Africa and then migrated through Europe and Asia to reach the Pacific and Americas. "The two studies also show that Africans have the most diverse DNA, and the fewest potentially harmful genetic mutations." Meanwhile, other reports show that we are de-evolving at a much faster rate.
